Winter? Or Fall?

It certainly looks like winter from this angle.
This is not the Lake, but it is very near and it is very golden. It needed to be seen.

Watercolor

This is an unexpectedly pretty shot that I got this morning around 9am.

Swamped!

This is the beach near our house. In years past, we are told, that big puddle was a little more full, and created a "basin" in which young children could frolic while their parents watched from beach chairs. Since we have lived here (2.5 years) the basin has been empty, leaving a vast, dry beach.
Last Friday, the waves were high enough and steady enough to fill the basin. Too cold for swimming, though.

Unsmooth Sailing

Leaving

I tried really hard to convey this in a photo, but did not succeed. Use your imagination to see all the leaves blowing down off this tree into the water.

Plaid Sky, Sun, and Trees

Here's something new. The sun is rising later now, and I had my camera with me so I took pictures on my way in to the office. Wow.

Color and power

I took these yesterday, trying to capture the power of the waves. You can't really see the waves very well, but as a bonus, I got the multi-colored leaves. Yes I took this from inside my office. I held the camera right up against the glass, to avoid the reflection from the film on the glass, so there is no playing with angles or perspective, just straight ahead shots. But the tree sure is pretty, isn't it?

Turbulent

The Lake is looking a bit like I'm feeling. Recovering from fall, recovering from flu, what's the difference, really?

Photogenic

This Lake simply cannot take a bad picture.
This is at 4pm after a clearing rain. It has been beautiful all day long, first menacing, then roiling, and now clearing. Wish I had taken pics of each stage.

High Low

There's a layer of clouds close to the lake in the distance, and some right above our heads, too.

These two photos were taken minutes apart, at about 10am. Gives you an idea how much the angle of the sun affects what you see.

This picture makes me want to run out and film some kind of medieval fantasy bit that involves some sailing.
