Buds!

Unlike last year, when Spring was delayed by a month, the buds are out early. From 4/05/12.

Early Spring

Last year I posted a lot about how LATE spring was, this year it is the opposite.  No doubt, if you are a regular reader, you have noticed that we haven't had any ice on the lake this year. This spring, the purple carpet of flowers is a month early.  From 3/26/12.

Yes, It's a Cold Spring

Look at these lovely green leaves from May 18, 2010.
Now look at the same exact tree (at a wider angle) 363 days later. Leaves are barely unfolding. Out west they had a frost warning last night. So yes, you are colder than usual this spring. Or at least colder than last spring. I can't go back to 2009 for this view because I was still taking pictures from my office window (this was in the pre-reflective film days) so I don't have any of this tree. The one outside my window, then as now, is in full bright green leafiness. Someday I might add a time/temp feature just to help track these things.

Spectacular Sky

That's a rainstorm off on the horizon, with reflected sun peeking out from behind.
This tree is about to burst into leaf. Spring seems to have arrived. Finally. From Tuesday 4/26/11.

A Lake of Purple

These beautiful carpets of purple flowers are infesting lawns up and down the lakefront.

I'm Leaving!

So said this tree. By Monday it will be green. From Thursday, 4/15/10.

Flying High

It's Spring!
The para-sailors are out in full force, enjoying a spectacular sky and blue-green Lake.

Color!

I like the bright blue and green and springy green-yellow leaves. The black line is a cable hanging from the roof--part of the roof resurfacing project that is marring our spring air with the lovely scent of asphalt.

Greening

It's official! Spring has sprung!

Remember this post? Two days later, and the tree is leafing. And there's a boat on the Lake as a bonus! From Friday.
