Foreboding

A storm brewing out on the Lake never really made it to shore, but the effect was still quite sinister. From 3/27/12.

Right Before My Very Eyes

There was a thick covering of fog on the Lake when I arrived at work on Wednesday morning, 2/29/12. After an hour or so, it began to clear, so I stepped outside to snap some photos.
The combination of fog and sunlight made for some beautiful effects.
As I snapped photos, the fog quickly dissipated.
 Thinning out.
 Sun coming through.
 Nearly gone.

 Sun shining brightly.
Sometimes, the timing is just exactly right.

Snow Beautiful

Winter arrived, for a short time anyway.
The snow was still falling this morning as the sun attempted to shine.
Big, wet flakes clung to every tree branch and rock.
Fence posts were topped with pure white mounds of snow.

Most of it is gone from the trees at 2pm, but it was beautiful while it lasted.

Overhead

Hidden behind the haze. From Thursday, 2/23/12.

Light Sublime

Reflected on the slight waves, shining bright on the horizon. This was one of those mornings when I rounded the corner for my first view of the Lake and had to gasp. From 2/13/12.

Horizon Light

Roiling waters up close give way to sweet light on the horizon, beyond the clouds. From 2/07/12.

Filtered

Those are some amazing clouds, letting a little bit of light escape and shine in a spot on the water. From 2/04/12.

Extra Wonders

Nothing to say here.
And this is best enjoyed by clicking through to make it larger.  Those ice islands are brilliant on that steel blue water. From 1/24/12.

Curds

Forgive me, but those clouds look like cheese curds to me. Calling Miss Muffet. From 1/16/12.

Brushstrokes

Those clouds look whisked onto the sky.  And we got some snow! From 1/13/12.

Pushing

It looks to me like to clouds are trying to push the building back. From 12/20/11. (And with this I am caught up with my daily pics for now!)

Reflective

Both the surfaces and the mood they create are reflective. From 12/06/11.

Ketchup

So far behind.  I just need to post these and get on with my life, no cute captions this time.

What an incredible place to live and work. Wow.

After the Storm

In the wee hours of the morning, there was a terrible storm. Lots of rain and wind, waves I could hear from my closed up house three blocks away. But oh, what a beautiful morning! These were taken around 9am.
Here is some video footage of the much-calmed, but still beautiful, waves.

Beaming

Just a little hole in the clouds, small enough to let in some sunbeams, or maybe a member of the U.S.S. Enterprise crew. From Monday, 5/23/11.
