I Cotton to This!

Fluffy clouds. The phrase about cottoning, it has an interesting meaning and origin. From Friday, 3/26/10.

Smudge

I know there's a better synonym for this, but I can't find one. The sky is amazing. It's very windy, and the clouds were moving.

Ghostly

In the morning.
And in the evening. In both, you can't tell the Lake from the sky. From Wed. 3/24/10.

Lacey

Soon (soon!) this will be full of leaves and block the water. But for now, it makes a nice frame. From Tuesday, 3/23/10.

Far

This picture
and this one were taken from the same exact spot, I just turned a bit. The light, it plays tricks. From Monday, 3/22/10.

Bluer

Love the stripes of color here, though by finally catching up on postings, I'm about to bump the stalagmites off the front page, which is sort of why I've held off this long. That's why this is from Sunday, and today is Thursday.

Glassy

Lake, and...
...harbor. Luck o' the Irish to you there, fisherman. From Wednesday 3/17.

Oh Say Can You See

By mid-morning's light...
For some reason this reminds me of fireworks. 9am Tuesday.

Beware

Gray and blue and cloudy for the Ides of March. Monday, 3/15.

Impossibly Colorful

All taken Sunday, 3/14, within a few minutes of each other.

Flying High

It's Spring!
The para-sailors are out in full force, enjoying a spectacular sky and blue-green Lake.

Fog Survivors!

I wasn't gone so much as the Lake was gone last week. Occasionally, the fog would clear and you might see something like this. How cheerful!
Though there were a few (very few) sunny moments like this.
And this (but as you can see, the fog still lingered in the background). All from Thursday, 3/11.

That Which Drips

The literal translation of stalagmites. Amazing formations on a calm pre-spring day at the beach.

Late Morning Fluff

Clear white clouds for a sunny day. From Friday, 3/5/10

Spring has Sprung?

Anyone who thinks winter is over might want to take a gander at the archives from last March. There may be many snowy days in the future.

Just a Few Hours...

...makes all the difference. This is from about 1pm, when the sky and Lake made a striped series.
And this is from 5:15pm, the stripes are gone, the sky has turned pink. (But it's light out at 5:15! Spring is coming!)

Pink Outline

Just a bit of a rosy glow on the Lake this morning. It was like this yesterday morning, too, and ended sunny. So we can hope.

Texture

The Lake is restless and the sun shining on the water makes for a rough texture. I love the clouds on the horizon, too. From Monday, 3/1/10.

Kind of Blue

This seems the perfect title, and the Miles Davis classic is the perfect soundtrack, for a gloomy Saturday. From 2/27/10.
