Picture Perfect Saturday

Saturday was a perfect day. Here's one of the beaches, filled with happy bathers (that's the pier, in front).
Look at the color of that water.
That's a pleasure boat, in every sense of the term (if you click twice on the picture, you can read its name, which is KNOT to Worry).
Later in the evening, another beach, taken from the bikepath. Just after this, we passed the marina, filled with boats and people spending their first weekend on the Lake. And a family of ducks, mommy carefully shepherding a crew of babies between the boatslips. This weekend has been one of those when I can't believe how lucky I am to be living here, right on the shore of this stunning natural wonder. All from Saturday, 5/29/10.

Cloud Wisperer

I know it is misspelled. It's a pun. A bad one, but still a pun.

Foggy Bottom

There was a fog warning popping up on my computer all day, and what do you know? It did eventually get foggy. These were taken about 4:30.
You can tell it is foggy.
But now it is foggy like out-of-a-movie-set-can't-see-across-the-street-the-zombies-are-coming-to-get-us foggy. Seriously. Foghorns are sounding in the harbor.

Glad I don't have to drive tonight. Take care if you do.

Subtle stripes this afternoon. Missed yesterday, which was full of sunshine and boats.

The lighthouse and pier framed by the formerly lacey tree. This one was too good to keep to myself. So a bonus post for today! (click through to enlarge--that is the really cool thing about this photo--the close up!)

I am bowled over by these images.
Sometimes the conditions are just right for an amazing array like this.

In real life, it looked like there were pale, butter-colored streaks on the horizon, but the photo didn't pick that up. And it's out of focus, because I am a butter-fingers, apparently. From Monday, 5/17/10.

Those white spots are white caps. From Sunday, 5/16/10.

A Whiter Shade of Pale

This title has been in the hopper for a few weeks, because this view fades in and out every few days, but I never managed to get a photo of it until today.

Colorful Stripes

The white dots are sailboats (click to enlarge).
I love the textures and colors in this one. From Friday, 5/14/10.

Too Many Views

This is the late afternoon view, about 5:10pm today. Earlier, the Lake looked nearly white. It is so weird. If I could still take photos from my own window, I'd take 10 every day. It's different every 10 minutes or so.

Soft and Fuzzy

The colors were a little clearer in person, but very soft and lovely. And out of focus. From Wednesday, 5/12/10.

I did not manage to get a good shot of the waves, but they were something today. Strong and LOUD. Missed yesterday, which was pretty with shades of blue and green running through the water. Sigh. Things will lighten up soon, I hope, both on the water and in life.

Clouds are billowing. From last Saturday, 5/8/10.

Heavy and Strong

It was stormy and cold yesterday. One of the interesting things about heavy wind is watching the birds. The seagull (black speck) in sky was stationary for the 60 seconds or so that I was taking pictures. When I take the time to notice, I often see them flying against the wind, sort of a seagull treadmill that keeps them in the same spot until they decide to move out of the current. When they turn around, they quickly and effortlessly float along with the wind, and travel far in a matter of moments.

All That Glitters...

Sunny day with pixelated, rapidly-moving little ripples. (Missed 5/5/10 entirely! sorry!)

Just a few cloud-lets in the sky. From Tuesday 5/4/10.

Low Overhead

Beautiful clouds from Monday, 5/3/10.

At first glance, this is a simple pic, but then you notice that amazing cloud up top, the blue stripe on the horizon, and the pretty green water. From Friday, April 30. Missed Thursday. Things are just crazy lately.
